Through our partner, Whispering Hope Singapore, we provide grief management workshops using the Grief Recovery Method (GRM).

Grief Recovery Method (GRM)

The Grief Recovery Method® is an experiential, action-based program with weekly self-reflective assignments. Grief is not merely an intellectual experience. Grief involves emotions too.

Each griever examines old beliefs about dealing with loss, identifies the losses that have affected his or her life, and learns to take new actions that lead to completion of the pain attached to those losses. As a result, grievers are empowered to discover and complete what was left emotionally unfinished due to a death, a divorce, or other major loss.

Understanding loss and grief for recovery is achieved by a series of small and correct choices made by the griever. During the sessions, the Grief Recovery Specialist will explain these action choices and guide grievers in taking them. Applying the correct tools will enliven them to enjoy significant relationships, and more fulfilling lives. Part of the program is to help grievers acquire better ideas about dealing with the losses that have hurt them.

The dynamics of group and/or individual interactions, beginning from a broad base and filtering down to the root of each person’s unique grief, are experienced during the program. In the course of relating with one another in self-discovery, grievers feel strengthened by the group experience.
