The Angel Gowns Project is where Angel Hearts began, rooted in the desire to provide comfort and dignity to families who have lost their babies. We started by repurposing preloved wedding gowns into beautifully handcrafted Angel Gowns and have since expanded to include Angel Wraps, Receiving Blankets, and Beanies. Our volunteers also crochet or loom Beanies and create handmade cards, offering an additional touch of love and care. These items are distributed free of charge to partner hospitals and funeral homes, ensuring every bereaved family receives support in their time of need, regardless of their religion or background.
Each step in this process is a labour of love. Volunteers carefully deconstruct donated wedding gowns, cutting the fabric into seven different sizes to fit infants of all gestational ages. Every gown, wrap and beanie is individually sewn, and all logistics – from crafting to distribution – are managed by our dedicated volunteers. These angel apparel items are given freely to families to honour the lives of their babies with dignity.
In addition to angel apparel, we offer Angel Gift of Comfort (Pay Forward) that can be purchased for $20 or $50 to help offset the cost.
