Grief Program Lead

Singapore has been home for the last 2 decades and its people my family. Integrating into Singapore, I want to be able to support the communities to help lives process their losses and guide them in their journey to recovery. Though I have not experienced any loss of a child, life had brought me down to my knees time and again as I faced other kind of losses.

With a career spanning over 20 years, I dedicated my adult life to promoting human rights and social justice in Morocco and Belgium. My experience in the political arena overseeing social projects, combined with my work with various NGOs, has given me a unique perspective on the challenges facing vulnerable communities, especially women and children.

Since moving to Singapore in 2005, I became a full-time counsellor and helped adults and teenagers overcome a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, grief, burnout, intimacy and marital challenges, as well as mid-life crisis and career change.

As a counsellor, I employ a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual’s unique needs, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Redecision Therapy among others. These approaches help clients gain insight into their patterns of thinking and behaviour, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in their lives. I profoundly believe that the healing begins with the client’s courage to speak and the counsellor’s wisdom to listen.
